I learned how to solve the cube using the LBL method, but found that 1) the
middle layer algorithm is too long and 2) there are 4 complicated algorithms
you need to perform multiple times to solve the last layer.
I found this 8355 method by Mr. Hsu and I think it is much better. There are
only 3 easily memorizable algorithms. I would like to know is this method
available in English?

8 bottom layer
Cross on bottom, 3 corners. Total of 8 pieces solved on the bottom. The
unsolved corner is the keyhole, keep it at FRD.
3 edges
Use keyhole to solve 3 of the 4 middle edges.
5 edges
Use keyhole to solve the remaining 5 edges.
The last two edges may require you to use algorithm(s).
Rotate the middle layer until the unsolved edge is at FR.
Rotate the top layer until the unsolved edge is at TR.
If the two edges are in the incorrect location need to be swapped, apply
algorithm 1: (hold F face with left hand) F'U' FU' F'U' F
If the two edges are in the correct location but need to be flipped, apply
algorithm 2: (hold F face with left hand) F'U FU' (hold R face with right
hand) RU' R
You may need to use both algorithms.
5 corners
Now the cube is solved except for 5 corners. Hold the cube so that there are
4 unsolved corners on the top face and 1 unsolved corner at FRD.
Look at where the corner currently at FRD is supposed to go. Rotate U until
the place it is supposed to go is directly above it at FRU.
Perform algorithm 3: R'B'RB
until FRU is solved. The bottom layer of the cube will be messed up but that
doesn't matter. Again look at FRD, turn U layer, and repeat alg. 3 until done!
It may be the case that the top layer is done but the bottom layer is messed
up. If this happens, repeat alg.3 until all the cube is done except for 2
corners. Rotate the cube until the two unsolved corners are at FRU and FLU.
Repeat alg.3 until corner at FRU is done. Perform U'. Again repeat alg.3
until corner at FRU is done. U and you're done!
I like this method because it feels more like solving the cube instead of
just recalling some formulas. i tried teaching some people and they can
generally get it after a few times. (Alg.1&2 take a bit longer.) There are 2
more algorithms you can learn to make it faster. (will post later)

不過話雖如此,他還是自己把所知道的8355法用英文敘述了一次。
然後他說他很喜歡8355法勝於一般的LBL方式,felix試著教了幾個人,都一下子就學會了。
原po說若再多背兩個公式,可以讓8355法最後的5變的更快。
後來有兩個人回文,說這種留工作區的方法叫keyhole method,是以前就有的方法。
我覺得keyhole翻譯的還蠻棒的!
許老師,要不要考慮在你的網頁上放上英文版的8355法,應該會很紅!
