IGN 報導 John Carmack 在協助 id Software 完成 Tech 5 遊戲引擎的開發後,
正式離開他和 John Romero、Tom Hall 以及 Adrian Carmack 於 1991 年所成立的
id Software
現任 id Software 的工作室總監 Tim Willits 在接受採訪時向 IGN 表示,
John Carmack 之所以離開 id 是因為他現在專注於業外(硬體)的興趣多於遊戲開發
* 先前外媒報導 John Carmack 在今年 8 月初加入了開發頭戴式 VR 顯示器的一間硬體
製造商 Oculus VR 擔任技術長(CTO)
* 雖然 John Carmack 名義上離開了 id 但依舊在 id 佔有一定的重要性,往後也許
會用其他方式來協助 id 開發遊戲也說不定
