Murphy Super
"This is one of the best moments of my life," Peter Murphy said. "You never
think that's going to happen -- a no-hitter."
He made those comments after he held the Skeeters hitless in the Indianapolis
3-0 victory at Indianapolis Grounds.
"We simply couldn't get any wood on the ball," said the Taipei manager, when
asked about his epic performance. "Murphy was brilliant out there. He
certainly had our number."
Murphy was more humble about his historic feat and told BNN reporters that he
was "just happy to get the win for the club."
He faced only 29 batters in the no-hit gem, struck out 6 and walked 1.
Currently Murphy has a 13-10 won-lost record in 31 starts with a 3.87 ERA. He
also has 88 strikeouts in 174.1 innings.
