Why It Was Selected
WarCraft III took a proven RTS franchise and added some excellent RPG
mechanics and powerful hero units to significantly alter the flow of
gameplay. The storytelling in WarCraft III is top tier, and it cemented
Blizzard's place amongst the best storytellers in the gaming world. Combine
the fantastic single player with the amazing multiplayer – which spawned
mods like the famous Defense of the Ancients – and you have not only one of
the best PC games, but one of the best games. Period. There's a reason that
people still play WarCraft III today.
