Dust 星塵
Dust is the "currency" of Endless Space.
星塵是Endless Space的「貨幣」。
Overview 概觀
Origin 起源
"Dust" is the creation of a highly advanced race, the Endless, that traversed
the galaxies tens of thousands of years before the gameplay begins. The
Endless developed technology that was so advanced that they were able to
upload their minds and consciousnesses into computers, thus gaining virtual
immortality.
在遊戲時間點的千萬年前,一個在銀河系間漫遊的高度進化種族.永恆族,創造了「星塵

Through their mastery of nano-engineering, the Endless created an
infrastructure of nanobots and nano-computers to maintain their society. Some
used these infinitesimally small machines to help maintain their biological
bodies, while others used constructs of these nano-elements -- known
collectively as "Dust" -- as virtual bodies once they uploaded themselves.
The technology was sufficiently advanced to self-replicate itself and
self-assemble. While individual motes of Dust had very limited computing
power, the ability to "talk" and network was built in. As a result, "clouds"
of Dust could form extremely sophisticated systems.

However, while many of the Endless chose to become electronic
consciousnesses, there were equally large numbers who kept to their bodies,
gaining immortality instead through DNA manipulation, the use of dust to
repair failing organs, cloning, etc. These two societies drifted apart, began
to mistrust each other, championed different goals and uses of resources, and
eventually fell into open conflict.

The "Virtuals" developed their versions of Dust to aid in communication and
transport. It was refined to provide virtual bodies, pass electronic signals,
collect and store energy, etc.
「虛擬派」發展出自己的星塵用來通訊和運輸。精鍊過後的星塵用來製造虛擬軀體、傳遞
電子訊號、蒐集及儲存能量等等。
The "Concretes" developed Dust that excelled in manipulating the physical
world: Improving building and transportation systems, attacking crop
diseases, cleaning and sterilizing living spaces, etc.

命的環境清潔及消毒等等。
Uses 使用
Dust is valuable and versatile. During the time of the Endless it improved
computing systems and networks, added intelligence to things that were
usually "dumb" (roads, buildings, tables, lights, clothing, etc.), and even
locked itself together to form structures. Sufficiently large quantities of
Dust could form networks and supercomputers; small quantities could assemble
into cybernetic enhancements.
星塵價值極高用途也廣。在永恆族的時期,其先進的聯絡和網路系統,使的那些以往「愚

The Endless came to rely upon Dust to the point where their civilization was
almost symbiotic between life-forms and Dust. Their cities and ships
contained enormous quantities of Dust; space stations and habitats were
formed almost entirely from it.

Today 今日
In the world of Endless Space, however, the Empires lack the ability of the
Endless to understand and manipulate Dust. As the game goes on and technology
improves, however, Dust will become increasingly useful as technologies are
unlocked that allow Empires to better exploit it.

On the other hand, because it is highly valuable and relatively easy to find

Exploration, it is one thing that all societies, regardless of how different
they are from each other, want and desire, except for the Harmony.

Systems 行星系
Population in systems generate Dust directly to the empire. Hydrogen and
Desert planets produce the highest base Dust per population unit. They also
have the most effective Dust exploitation. Improvements are available that
boost dust production.

The tax rate controls how much Dust you earn directly. Multipliers (indicated

In addition, systems in an allied (but not your own) or neutral influence
area have a x0.5 multiplier to Dust, and systems in an enemy influence area
have a x0.25 multiplier to Dust.

IND-Dust Conversion 工業─星塵轉換
If you need extra Dust, you can have systems produce it instead of
constructing items. This produces 0.25 Dust per point of Indusrtry.
如果需要額外的星塵,可以透過資源轉換來獲得。每一單位工業產能換0.25單位星塵。
Trade Routes 貿易路線
Trade routes are automatically created between friendly empires' systems.
They produce a good amount of dust and science to the system per turn,
depending on the distance and other factors. This can be increased by
Improvements and Wonders.
自己的行星系與盟友的行星系之間會自動建立貿易路線,根據路線距離和其他因素,每回
合會產出不少星塵和科技力。行星改良和自然奇觀可以增加貿易路線的收益。
Consumption 消耗
Dust is not used up each turn, like other resources. It is not inherently
'useful' and does not produce anything in itself, instead effectively acting
as a capacity or supply cap for assets like ships and heroes. These can then
be used in their respective roles to maintain control of systems, or boost
system FIDS productivity. That being said, it is unwise to skimp on dust
production as it will constrain the amount of ships/fleets you can deploy.
星塵跟其他資源一樣不會在每回合結束時歸零。通常星塵不是說「很有用」,放著也不會

Any surplus accumulates from turn to turn and may be spent on buyouts,
retrofits, or diplomatic negotiations; these can convert it into Industry or
Science respectively.
每回合剩下的星塵都會繼續累積,而買斷、船艦翻新或外交協商都會用到星塵。也可以透
過資源轉換把星塵轉換為工業產能或科技力。
Upkeep 維持費
Heroes cost 2 Dust per level per turn (minimum 2 Dust) to upkeep. Each rank
of the Legendary Heroes trait reduces this by 2 Dust.
英雄每回合的薪水是相當於其等級兩倍的星塵(最少為2)。擁有特性「傳說英雄」的話
,每個等級能減少英雄兩單位星塵的維持費。
Ships cost (0.4*max fleet CP) Dust per CP per turn to upkeep. Thus a
Dreadnought in an empire that has a CP limit of 22 Command Points will
require 35 Dust per turn to upkeep.

Improvements cost Dust per turn to upkeep, depending on the improvement.

Heroes 英雄
You can spend Dust to recruit a Hero. The cost to recruit a Hero is 20 Dust
plus 60 Dust for every Hero you already have.

)*60的星塵。
If a Hero is injured, you will need Dust to heal them. This cost is 25 Dust
per level on the turn the Hero is injured, but decreases every turn,
depending on how fast heroes heal. Heroes Heal faster in factions with traits
that reduce the cost per level, or for heroes who have a healing ability.
英雄受傷了,也要用星塵來治療。英雄受傷的那回合,每等需要花25星塵,該數字會隨著

You may spend Dust to buyout a construction, which completes it at the end of
the current turn. Doing so costs Dust equal to ((remaining Industry cost of
the item)^1.25) * 0.7 (.35 on slow)

Retrofiting Ships 船艦翻新
You may spend Dust to retrofit a ship to an updated model of the same line.
The cost is 0.5 Dust of the total Industry cost of the new model - not the
difference. In Disharmony, retrofitting ships will immediately repair Special
Modules. Unknown if this is a bug or game design feature.
你能花費星塵來替一艘船做翻新,更新某種類型的模組。花費的量為新模組需要花費的工
業產能量的一半。在Disharmony中,翻修船艦會立刻把特殊模組修好,不知道是bug還是
原本設計就是這樣。
Miscellaneous Bonuses 其他加成
Your home system produces 2 extra dust (before taxes).

Science 科技力
Science is a resource used to advance the game by researching technology.
科技力是一種資源,能在遊戲內用來研發科技。
Production (Classic ES) 生產(原版Endless Space)
Population in systems generate Science directly through population unit.
Helium, Tundra, and Arctic planets produce the highest base Science per
population, without upgrades. Barren planets have the most effective Science
Science exploitation. Artic planets also get a boosted bonus from an
exploitation. Improvements are available that increase the rate of production.
行星系內的人口會直接生產科技力,氦氣、凍土和極地行星未開發前的單位產量最高,貧
瘠行星則有最高的科技力開發向性,極地行星的向性也不錯。相關的行星改良也能增加科
技力的產量。
Blockaded systems produce no Science.
被封鎖的行星系無法生產科技力。
Trade Routes 貿易路線
A significant amount of science can be made by creating Trade Routes with
systems in other peaceful empires. They produce a varying amount of Science
and Dustdepending on the total population, distance, and improvements present
on the other system.
與其他保持和平狀態的帝國之間建立貿易路線,能產出可觀的科技力。貿易路線所生產的
科技力和星塵產量取決於整體人口、路線距離和相關的行星改良。
IND-Sci Conversion 資源轉換
If you need extra Science, you can have systems produce it instead of
constructing items. This produces 0.25 Science per point of Industry.

Production (Disharmony) 生產(Disharmony)
As in Classic, Science is produced only from planets and events. However, in
Disharmony the base FIDS for planets changed, with Barren (at a base of 12
Science per population) replacing Tundra on the top three Science producing
planets. Barren still mantains an exceedingly good Science exploitation
ability, making Barren planets second to only Helium in Science per
population.
在原版中,只能在行星和事件中獲得科技力。不過在Disharmony裡,各種行星的FIDS基本
產量都改過了,貧瘠行星(科技力基礎產量12)擠下凍土行星,成為科技力產量最高的三

Blockaded systems produce a severly limited amount of Science

Industry Converted to Science occurs at a rate of 1/3 in disharmony, instead
of the 1/4 rate in Classic

Consumption 消耗
Roll-Over 保留
Science rolls over into the next turn if unused.
沒用到的科技力會保留到下一回合。
Switching Technologies 科技轉換
Science fills each technology seperately. If you switch technologies, the
Science put in the first technology stays there.

Science is solely used for researching technologies.
